My creative objective
I wanted to create a surreal composition based on a bottle and a tiny boy. I had seen a photo montage of an upside down light bulb with a tree growing in it and thought I would take this idea further.
Once I inserted the tree into the bottle, I thought a bird would be nice and accentuate the surreality of the composition.
The bird in the bottle  looked trapped and I thought of how she would probably  be dreaming of freedom.
This gave me the idea to photograph my son with an Atlas and insert him as if  he was reading to the bird and they both had dreams of far away travels.

For this task, I used my digital camera Nikon D7000 and photoshop.

Draft 1
Bottle and boy are too stark against the background. The fog is too pink and blue.
Draft 2
Background colour changed. Fog is whiter. Content of the bottle and tiny boy are less opaque.
Draft 3
Tiny boy is relocated to a more focussed area of the background. His shadow is darker.
Draft 4 and Final
The composition is re-framed following the rule of thirds. The background colour is reworked from scratch so it is more realistic in colours. The fog is repositioned to accommodate new frame. A shadow is created for the bottle, in line with that of the tiny boy.
